Wow, this is a fun one since Heroes is by far my most favorite show on television. As much as I would want telekinesis, I think telepathy would be the most interesting ability to have. For the villainous reasons, it'd allow you to eavesdrop on people's deepest thoughts, you could control people, even in their sleep (Maury Parkman), and at worst you could make Molly eat her cereal. The reason why I'd want it personally is for a reason that hasn't been shown by Matt yet, which is a shame. I think hearing people's thoughts would make you empathic towards people's feelings, and you could understand them so much better. Less fights with girlfriends/boyfriends, helping out people who are quiet with their feelings. Imagine how great a person you could be if you could crack open people's minds without the mess Sylar makes.
I actually think two different abilities combined could complement each other - intuitive aptitude (minus the debilitating "hunger" which comes with it) and accelerated probability (which was the ability "set-aside" for Santiago, for the Create Your Hero webisodes, which should air in a month).
As one who likes to figure things out and wants to be helpful, having intuitive aptitude to access/use more of the brain more fully would come in handy in problem-solving. Also, being able to make wise choices with accelerated probability would hopefully help me find ways to help people before they ask.
I'd like the ability to see, hear, and control people's thoughts and actions. Of course, I would only use my powers for good. For instance, I would make politicians, lawyers, and criminals tell the truth (they were grouped together intentionally). I could help mend marriages and family relationships by opening the lines of communication and facilitating true and honest dialogues. I could finally get that hot cheerleader from college who wouldn't give me the time of day to go out with me and. That's still using my powers for good isn't it? In fact I might even classify that as the "greater" good!
Wow, I'm hoping that this can constitute as a Heroes-related answer because I'm still hoping they have this power on the show. It's an extension of Isaac's power.
However, instead of painting the future, it's painting or drawing anything, and then being able to use whatever has been drawn in reality.
For example, if you drew a gun, you could then grab the gun from the picture and use it to shoot someone. It would only work with inanimate objects, and the item would only be able to be used for a limited time. It could be used to create the perfect crime because the weapon could easily be "erased".
There was an episode similar to this on Amazing Stories years ago with Kevin Costner, but whatever he drew, just appeared in real life. It was very cool
I would go for Peter's or the Hatains but they would be rubbish if I was the only one in the world with them. It would have to be crumpling as seen in the comics, this is the most amazing power ever!
I'd like the power to see into the past. The future is mutable, but the past is set in stone. However, everyone's recollection of history is different (the winners get to write the history books). To be a virtual fly on the wall, to dream of the past as if you were there and see it all happening... that would be an enlightening thing!
For me it would be Candice Wilmers power of of casting illusions. It would be fun screwing with people but also could be quite lucritive if those illusions could be caught on film, How in demand would I be in Hollywood creating cheap and quick special effects. If that doesn't work I could always make a fortune putting on the ultimate stage show in Vegas.
It's all about the x-ray vision. If there's any power that's missing from one of the best shows around, it would be the ability to see through things. How much fun would Sylar have with that one! And you know what? He could probably do away with those messy scalpings and just, ya know, look inside his victims head to get what he wanted!
I would like to have Peter Petrelli's power. It is potentially the most powerful evolved human ability, but also demands great dedication to learn to use others powers - and even more care to use them to the greater good. It reminds me of Spider-Man and the famous 'With great power comes great responsibility' - but taken to another level. Using others abilities means improving empathy, as you can understand them through their powers. So for me it would be all about the road, the path of the hero - literally ever changing, trying to make a difference.
VALIANT is a game engine for the apps for iPhone and iPad. VALIANT enables you to create a character and venture forth through epic stories for hours at an end, or seconds in the line at the bank.
